Hello there friends!
This is a quick post to show you my latest project. I picked up this cute vintage 5 drawer dresser last week and got to work on it right away. I love the simple lines and thought a pop of color would be perfect on this one. Here’s the before photo.
It was in great shape structurally but had a million surface scratches. I sanded it smooth and it was ready for paint. I wanted to go with a fun pop of color. I picked up some General Finishes Coral Crush milk paint but it was a little more pink pow than I wanted for this dresser (I have another great project in mind for this color that will be coming up!). I ended up mixing 2 parts persimmon with 1 part coral crush for the perfect bright orange. Ready? Check this out.
It actually took 5 coats to get the coverage I wanted, but so worth it. I sealed it with General Finishes high performance top coat in flat.
I love orange and think that it works well with so many other colors. I love it with blues, gray, white, to name a few.
The knobs are so pretty. They are milk glass knobs I picked up from D. Lawless Hardware. I wanted to use milk glass for this piece and I searched around for the best deal. Milk glass knobs can get quite pricey. D. Lawless had the best price I could find and I am really happy with them in terms of quality.

Your dresser turned out so cute! I want to paint something orange, but I haven’t found the right piece yet. I now feel inspired to keep looking.
Love the color and the knobs are a perfect fit! I like the silver base detailing on the knobs – they do look very high quality. You are scaring me with five coats…I’m about ready to embark on a dresser in a smidge lighter shade…looks like I better be ready to patiently apply multiple coats! Such a pretty piece and so well executed!
