Welcome, friends!
Today I’m teaming up with a fantastic group of bloggers for the Styled for Spring home tours hosted by Jenna from Wife in Progress. All of the bloggers participating in the tour are linked at the bottom, so be sure to check them out. I know you will be inspired by all of their beautiful spring decor.
Decorating my home this spring is all about adding florals – fresh, faux and floral fabrics. The winters are pretty gray here in Seattle, so when springtime finally arrives, I am always craving a little bit of color. I’ve added a few new thrifted items as well, and I will point those out as we go.
Entry
A simple wreath on the front door hints at what is inside. I found it at the thrift store for a few dollars. I removed a tattered and worn red Christmas bow, fluffed and straightened the leaves, and added some faux magnolia blooms here and there. I cut up a faux magnolia stem I had from IKEA and tucked the blooms in around the leaves for a fresh spring look.
I had to share this view from our front porch. I’m so inspired by all of the beautiful pink flowers this time of year. Our evergreen clematis is just on the verge of bursting into full bloom.
Dining Room and Kitchen
This is the view that greets you as you enter my home. Our entry, living room, dining room, and kitchen are one open space.
I switched out my dining room rug with a vintage one I found at the Goodwill. It has muted greens, pinks and soft beige tones. I also recently changed the stools in the kitchen. A Restoration Hardware outlet opened near me, and I found the wood counter stools for a great deal. I really like the warmth the wood adds to the mostly white kitchen.
I brought home all of these pretty florals from Trader Joe’s. They have wonderful seasonal florals, and are so affordable, too.
The various shades of pink and creamy whites were the inspiration for my spring decor.
I added a few stems to a blue and white ironstone pitcher I just found at the Goodwill. I always grab old French herb and mustard pots when I find them.
The vintage Bohemian-American cookbook was a gift from my mom. My grandmother gave it to her back in the 50’s. Any other Bohemians out there? I make apricot dumplings every summer using a recipe from this book.
Snapdragons always remind me of a vintage cottage garden.
Family Room
I carried some touches of pink and floral fabric in to our family room.
My little repurposed shelf is still going strong. It’s fun to change it up a bit with the seasons. I moved the round mirror out, and hung a large clock in its place.
I found the little cream numbered crocks at the Goodwill (I think they are spice containers), and I planted a few small succulents in them. The ceramic milk bottle (also a thrifted find), makes a great vase.
I switched out my artwork with a couple of thrifted pieces.
Thanks so much for joining me on my spring home tour. I’ll leave you here in this cozy little spot by the back door to my garden.
Next on the tour is my sweet friend Kelly from The Tattered Pew. Her home is gorgeous, and you are going to love her spring decor.

I’m Bohemian (or a Bohunk, as we liked to tease my mom). My mother’s maiden name is Pechacek, and her parents are from Austria, which I think was part of what was once Bohemia.. I don’t think I’ve “met” another Bohemian. 😀 The illustration on your little cookbook is priceless. Thanks for sharing and inspiring!
Julie says
Susan, again you have created an amazing, fresh and beautiful space, this time for Spring! You have the ability for finding a “diamond in the rough” all the time in your thrifting, then turning it into something everyone would love to have on their front door or under their dining table! Your styling is impeccable. The only thing missing is a framed copy of the new issue of American Farmhouse.
Christina Miller says
Totally gorgeous! I love using spring as a reason to bring in a touch of pink. Also, the new barstools are perfect.
