Hi Friends,
I hope your summer is going well so far. I know some of you may already be thinking about fall, but here in Seattle our summers typically get off to a late start. So, I’m not quite ready to bring out the pumpkin spice just yet.
Today I’m sharing some summery updates I made to Sadie’s bedroom. I used watery blues and greens, along with a few coastal touches, to create a relaxing retreat for her. I love how it turned out. Come have a look!

I recently found the Pottery Barn corner bookshelf / hutch while thrifting. Sadie’s room is really small and it makes great use of the corner space. I styled it for her using thrifted, vintage and beachy finds. Summer is a great time to display a few of the shells we have collected over the years.
The blue throw was a recent TJ Maxx find. It adds a nice bit of texture to the bed, and the ruffle detail is so sweet. It’s lightweight, too, which is great for the summer.
Sadie wanted a comfy chair in her room. This white slipcovered chair from IKEA is smaller in scale, but still makes a nice cozy spot in the corner. Louie loves to hang out in the window.
I added one of these vintage style wire hooks to an old door.
I refinished the vintage dresser last year. You can see that here. The antique bed was a Goodwill find.
A fun whale rug adds a little coastal touch.
This “Calm” Rae Dunn candle says it all, doesn’t it?
I made the simple shell art using thrifted frames, burlap and shell fragments found at the beach. Sadie and I are always drawn to the imperfect, broken shells. The ones where you can see the insides. Somehow those seem the most special to us.
Thanks so much for stopping by and touring Sadie’s coastal bedroom retreat. I really appreciate it!

So many things to love here. TheTJ Max throw is so fun. And i’m not always a “paint furniture” fan, but LOVE the
white dresser you did with the natural wood knobs. Resourceful and clever you are!
