Hi Friends!
I’m so happy today to be joining a great group of bloggers for the Fall Ideas Tour hosted by Angie from Postcards From the Ridge. Each day this week we are sharing a different fall decorating theme, and I know you will be inspired. Today’s theme is porch decor, and I’m sharing my fall porch table for two. You will find links to all the other bloggers and ideas at the end of this post.

There is still time to enjoy the fresh air and cooler days outside. So, I thought I would create a little spot on my front porch for dining al fresco, enjoying an evening glass of wine, or an afternoon cup of tea.
I covered my bistro table with a pretty tablecloth to add a layer of texture and softness to the space. I spotted it last summer at the Goodwill, and loved the gorgeous embroidery and fringe detail on the edge. Turns out, it’s a perfect fit for my bistro table. The wicker dining chairs are also thrifted finds. I pulled them outside and added a couple of cozy pillows. A lovely candle from Antique Candle Works definitely ups the cozy factor and adds ambiance, too.
Dahlias are in season now and the colors are just stunning. I’m pretty sure my new favorite flower is the ‘Cafe au Lait’ Dinner Plate dahlia. How did I not know about these before? We took a trip downtown to the Pike Place Market, and when I saw these beautiful creamy blush dahlias, it was love at first sight.
I grabbed a mixed bouquet from the market, tucked in a few blackberries that have been growing over our fence from the neighbor’s yard, and added a few dried hydrangeas.
I picked up a Limelight Hydangea from the garden store and popped it into a vintage crock (similar here). Those pretty pink and green tones get me every time.
Apples are another favorite for fall. Sadly, our apple trees only produced a few apples this year. Not sure what happened, but there must have been a lack of pollination.
Nothing says fall like a few pumpkins. I like the traditional orange for a pop of seasonal color.
The vintage drop leaf table was a $7 Goodwill find. Seriously, I could not pass that up. It has a nice rustic patina and the boards on top are a just a wee bit wonky (in a good way), which makes it perfect for my porch. I have it simply styled with my favorite lantern and a vintage oyster basket filled with wood underneath.
The hanging repurposed window with the rusty metal bird was a simple project from last fall. You can see it here. I draped a little blackberry vine over the top just for grins and giggles.
I hope you all are enjoying the start of the fall season. Thanks so much for touring my fall porch table for two. For more fall inspiration, be sure to stop by and check out all the lovely fall ideas linked below.

Susan, your porch is so warm and cozy. I would love to come over and have a glass of wine in such a beautiful space. I love all your Goodwill finds. We have a store very close to our house. However, I haven’t found anything as gorgeous as you did. Maybe I need to look more often.
Susan says
Thanks so much, Patti! I think the key to scoring great thrifted finds is going often. A little luck and an open mind help, too!

Love the colors and coziness of the porch. The wicker and wood table go so well and set off the other colors. The crow on the window also caught my eyes. Whimsey.

I just adore the beautiful soft colors that you’ve used to decorate your porch! And seeing those dahlias makes me want to stop growing veggies and start growing dahlias!!! When you found that tablecloth, you scored a major find! I would love to find something similar to use on our front porch!
Susan says
Thank you, Jane! I am really thinking about growing dahlias next year. They are just so gorgeous. Move over vegetables!

I could spend all day on your beautiful porch – it is all so lovely and welcoming, and all of the colors (flowers, blanket, ceiling, furniture) , are beautiful. I can’t stop looking at the first photo – it definitely should be on a magazine cover!

Susan,
This is absolutely beautiful. Every single detail. I’m amazed at what you find at your Goodwill store. The tablecloth and drop leaf table are such wonderful finds. I think I need to make a visit to Seattle and just ship things back here because our thrift stores are pretty much overpriced junk. Thanks so much for joining the tour this year!
