Hi Friends,
We are having a lovely week of fall weather here in Seattle, and I’m finally getting used to the idea that summer is over. Adding a few seasonal touches to my home has definitely helped me transition to the new season. I hope you are all settling into a fall routine.
Last week I shared my front porch table for two. Today, I’m sharing indoor spaces in my home that I’ve decorated with some subtle and simple touches of fall. I’m definitely embracing a less is more philosophy this year. If the idea of decorating for the fall season seems overwhelming to you, I’ve got some simple ideas that I hope will inspire you. At the end of this post, you will find links to the incredible homes of some of my blogging friends. Thank you to Kendra from Joy in our Home for organizing this fall tour!

Entry
This little space in our home is small but mighty. With the kids back in school, I cleared out our front entry area making room for coats, scarves, backpacks, etc. A few simple fall touches make this drop zone feel special and welcoming.
The green, wine and blush tones of my Limelight hydrangeas have inspired my fall decor.
I added the grapevine wreath I found at the Goodwill to the front door.
This is the other side of our front entry that opens directly into the living room. I added some clippings from the garden, a couple of white pumpkins, and bird artwork to this space.
Living Room
I am still loving my summer blue decor. Let’s face it, I will always love blue no matter the season. To make it transition to fall, I added some caramel tones with the suede pillows and fringe throw blanket. I layered on a pretty blue rug over the jute rug for softness and texture.
The antique grape harvesting basket near the fireplace and the wood beads on the coffee table add more texture.
Sofas / Blue Pillows / Candles
Candles always cozy up a space. These are faux flickering candles, and I have them set on a timer. It’s so nice to come home to a warm glow of the candles in the evening.
I have some of my favorite decor books nearby for reading by the fire.
Dining Room
Dried Limelight hydrangeas, a basket of apples and pears, and my favorite fall candle from Antique Candle Works are the simple touches I added to the dining room. The neutral pumpkin pillow was a Target find from last year.
I switched out the rug under my dining table with a pretty aqua blue wool rug I found at the Goodwill. It adds a nice pop of color to the neutral space, and picks up the color of my vintage Ball jars.
Kitchen
Dahlias, faux fig stems, and a few pumpkins from the grocery store keep the kitchen fresh, pretty, and festive.
Thanks so much for stopping by. Be sure to head over and check out the other incredible tours below.

I love the look. You are a great inspiration for me to try new ideas in my own home. Can you tell me what color paint is on your walls and trim.
Susan says
Thank you, Sandra! The wall paint color is Benjamin Moore “Balboa Mist.” The trim is a custom color, but very close to BM Cloud White.

Your home is so darling…..love all your touches. Where did you get the “hi” sign in your entry. SOOOO cute. Also love your coffee table….share where you found that? Anyway….enjoyed it very much.
Susan says
Hi Toni! The “hi” sign was from Hobby Lobby. I originally picked it up for another project, then just popped it up on the ledge and there it stayed! The coffee table was a lucky Goodwill find – sorry I couldn’t find an original source.
Cheryl says
I can’t believe all of the things you find at Goodwill! The stores in my area never the kinds of items you are able to find. Good for you!!!
Susan says
Hi Cheryl! We do have great Goodwill stores around here. Thanks for stopping by!
Martha says
Love the post! Where might I find faux fig branches.
Susan says
Thanks, Martha! The faux fig stems were a find from last year. I think I picked them up at Michaels. Pottery Barn has some beautiful fig branches this year, too (but they are a bit on the pricey side.) The nice thing is you only need a couple of them to make a big impact. Susan

Kimberly says
So lovely! What great GW finds. How did you clean the rug? I’ve always hoped to find a great one during a thrift adventure.
Susan says
Thank you! I have my thrifted rugs professionally cleaned. It’s a little bit pricey, but still much less expensive than purchasing a new wool rug.
Lindsay Aratari says
