Hi Friends,
First, I want to extend my sincerest gratitude to all of you who read my last post, and left such supportive and kind comments about the passing of my mom. I read all of your comments, and was overwhelmed by your lovely words and prayers. You all truly lifted me when I really needed it. So, thank you.
It’s the first Saturday of the month, which means it’s time for a Cozy Living post with my blogging friends. This series is organized by my friend Jennifer at Town and Country Living, so go on over and say hello!
Today, I’m sharing my daughter Sadie’s cozy winter bedroom. The other cozy blog posts are linked at the bottom, so be sure to stop by and check them out.
My inspiration for the seasonal decor in Sadie’s bedroom came from the sweet painting hanging above her bed. I found it at the thrift store, and was so drawn to the winter scene – a white farmhouse in the woods, a snow covered red barn, a couple walking past an icy pond pulling home a fresh cut Christmas tree. Oh, so lovely. Can’t you just picture the cozy spaces inside that old farmhouse? That’s exactly what I was going for here.
I kept the blue and white bedding (which is from IKEA). To cozy it up for the season, I added a couple of navy and red plaid pillows, which take the look from summer to winter.
I added a few pinecones to the glass lamp base. It’s open on the bottom so I just placed them inside.
I added fresh and faux evergreens throughout her room. Twinkle lights on the fresh cut tree in the corner add some winter magic. The soft glow in the evening is so relaxing.
I found a vintage Pendleton throw, also a thrift store find, and layered it across the end of her bed.
I added some Christmas styling to her corner hutch.
I placed a couple small faux poinsettias in thrifted spice jars. The cute numbers are a nod to Christmas Day, the 25th of December. A thrifted fishing creel holds fresh cedar and soft mittens.
I have a few extra blankets stored on the lower shelf for cold nights.
Opposite Sadie’s bed is a little wicker chair from IKEA. I hung her special Christmas stocking from an old door propped against the wall.
I hope you enjoyed touring Sadie’s cozy winter bedroom. As always, I am so happy you stopped by!

I’m so very sorry to hear about your Mom, Susan! I’ll be praying for you. Losing a mom is so hard. My mom passed away nine years ago and it’s still hard at times. Your daughter’s room is so cozy, and I’m sure she loves to spend time in there with that pretty tree with twinkle lights!

I’m so very sorry for your loss Susan. Wishing you all the strength in the world as you journey through this incredibly difficult time. What a special space you’ve created for your daughter to enjoy the holiday season even more. I love all of the nostalgic plaids!

That was my first question! How did you get the pinecones into the lamp! You just add the right touch to everything. I love this bedroom; it’s both cozy and welcoming, and quiet and restful. I especially like how you styled the corner hutch – and of course, who can get enough plaid at Christmas? Not me !! (Wait — where’s Louie?)

Susan, your bedroom is perfect for Christmas! I love the bedding and all the details you’ve included. So sorry to hear about your mom. I lost my parents within a year of each other a couple years ago. I find comfort from all the memories and I do feel them near me at times. Wish I could give you a hug!

What an amazing bedroom space, I want to move right in and snuggle up in that bed. Beautiful decor as always 🙂 I also just lost my Mom last month and am heartbroken. I feel your pain and am praying for you to have strength to put one foot in front of the other and make it through another day. {hugs} my friend.

Lovely room Susan. I can hear the Christmas carols already and I’m looking for the hot chocolate ….Mmmmmmm
My daughters would have strewn their clothing all over this gorgeous room and would have been banished to the cold, dank basement immediately lol
Nicely done. I’ve been inspired. Heading for Homegoods now😄
