Welcome to my simple and cozy fall home tour!
I am so happy to be teaming up with a talented group of bloggers all sharing their cozy fall homes. Thank you to Sara from Twelve on Main for hosting this wonderful tour! I know you will enjoy seeing all of the lovely homes decorated for the season. The links to the other tours are provided at the bottom of this post. If you are coming here from Karen’s home at Sanctuary Home Decor, OMG isn’t her home amazing?
One of my goals this year has been to simplify the decor in my home. This fall is no exception, and I find myself drawn to the calmness of neutral spaces with just a hint of color. That’s not to say I am a minimalist, definitely not! I’m just feeling content with less decor and “stuff” in my home. I also believe that decorating for the seasons doesn’t have to be elaborate or expensive. Small meaningful touches are certainly enough to create a beautiful seasonal home. I hope you find something on this tour to inspire you!
So let’s get started in the kitchen.
Cheerful Fall Kitchen
The island is the centerpiece of our kitchen, and also the focus of my fall decor. I found the pretty coral and gold sunflowers at the grocery store, and arranged them simply in a white enamel pitcher. I love the little pop of color they add to my white kitchen. Aren’t they just so happy?
Next to the flowers, I created a small arrangement of white pumpkins and eucalyptus on a DIY modern farmhouse plank. A very simple, but festive touch for fall.
By the sink, I placed a few sprigs of seeded eucalyptus in a small pitcher. Along side the pitcher, I placed a sweet little white pumpkin and some seasonal Harvest Peach hand soap. Love the smell of this soap!
I styled the small floating shelves that flank my stove with a few of my favorite decor pieces that I’ve picked up thrifting here and there. I used simple white pitchers, a few vintage blue mason jars, stoneware crocks, and vintage medicine bottles (my latest thrifting obsession – I’m loving the soft blue and green glass!). I’ve also added a simple “Hello Fall” towel and a few more white pumpkins.
Below is the view from our dining space into the kitchen. I’ve made quite a few changes to this space, and I will be sharing a complete tour soon. The wood bead chandelier that used to be in my dining room is now in the master bedroom. I’ve promised a post with a tutorial on my thrift store dining table refinish, and that will be coming, too. For now, I’m sharing this small peek.
I added a soft navy blue plaid throw over the back of the chair for a touch of color and warmth.

Cozy and Neutral Den
This cozy little space in our home is directly across from the kitchen at the back of our home. I switched out the blue linens and pink flowers from summer with lots of neutrals and texture.
Lots of pillows and a faux fur throw for cuddling up.
I added a simple pumpkin pillow, a pumpkin spice candle, and a sweet little bird.
The lanterns contain faux flicker candles that I have set on a timer to go on in the evening. They add such a calm and relaxing glow, and are wonderful year round.
A textural round tray on the coffee table corrals a faux olive tree, more white pumpkins, and another fun iron bird.
I placed a simple row of white pumpkins in the window sill. Aren’t the pumpkins with the long crazy stems the best?

Feminine Fall Bedroom
I gave my daughter Sadie’s bedroom a complete makeover last summer. For fall, I switched out the blue bedding with warm blush, natural linen and shades of cream and white.
I created a simple floral arrangement with blush roses and eucalyptus from Trader Joe’s. The roses smell so wonderful at the bedside.
On the other side of the bed, I placed a similar but smaller floral arrangement, and a funky resin skull.
They say every room needs a touch of black. Louie helped me out with that one!
Why is it cats always think they own the place?

Your home is so beautiful! I love how cozy the living room accents are. And those sunflowers are amazing. We grew our own this year and love all the variety they add!
Susan says
Thank you, Sarah! We grew sunflowers one year, and I just loved them, too. I planned to save the seeds for the following season, but the birds completely wiped them out in one day!

Holly Boyle says
Love your home and especially that Kitchen!!! I am planning on new counter-tops – can you tell me the two that you used? Love the combo. Trying to avoid a “white-out” in my kitchen.
Susan says
Thanks, Holly! I used honed carrara marble on the island and Caesarstone quartz on the perimeter countertops in the color “Concrete.” I love the look of marble, but wanted a bit on contrast and something durable around the stove and sink. I’m very happy with the combo!
