It’s hard to believe October is already here, the temperatures are cooling, and the leaves are beginning to turn. I have been slowly feathering my nest and adding some simple fall touches. I am welcoming the season into my home, but not going overboard with the fall decor. I thought I would give you a little tour of my home this fall, and share the simple ways I am making my home cozy for the season.

Kitchen
I warmed up our white kitchen with some natural wood tones, seasonal fruit and fall leaves on the island.
I didn’t go crazy with fall decor, but I did add a cute textured raffia pumpkin to the open shelves and a white pumpkin soup tureen (that actually makes a great cookie jar!). Dried artichokes in a rattan bowl add a bit more texture and warmth.
Did you know that artichokes can bloom after you bring them home? I didn’t. I bought the artichokes at the grocery store this past summer. As they were drying out, I noticed that a couple of them developed gorgeous bright purple thistle-like blooms. Very cool!
My wood serving boards are handy placed behind the stove, and they look pretty, too. The vintage mason jars and pharmacy bottles in shades of soft bluish green add a bit of color.
Some great smelling pear soap at the kitchen sink feels fresh for fall.
Den
Our den is very light and bright, and my fall decor is mostly neutral. Even though there is a lot of white, I wanted this space to feel warm and welcoming as well. I used bronze tones and lots of pillows and baskets for texture.
I added a thick knit throw with gorgeous tassels. It’s a pretty rusty brown color called “Tobacco.” I picked up some fresh magnolia stems and a cute sage green pumpkin at the grocery store.
Did you notice the “new” table? It’s a vintage piece that I refinished this past week. I’ll be sharing details on that one very soon.
I styled the DIY ledges with a vintage inspired mirror, family photos in layered frames, and a cute olive tree topiary.
Master Bedroom
I’ve mentioned before that our master bedroom is kind of a family hang out space. We watch tv, read and nap in here. I like to use lots of cozy layers on the bed as the weather turns cooler for snuggling up.
I am in love with the chunky knit blanket on the end of the bed. It adds so much texture and looks beautiful simply thrown on the end of the bed.
I placed a couple of twigs with leaves from our maple tree in a thrifted bottle. I like to put leaves in the windows where they are illuminated by the sunlight. It’s kind of like a stained glass effect, so pretty.
The bedding is neutral, but with lots of cozy texture from my favorite cable knit pillow.
For the sitting area, I used more leaves in a thrifted glass jar and a couple of natural looking pumpkins.
The navy plaid pillows transition from summer to fall. I have been burning the navy pumpkin candle all day and it smells amazing.
I hope your October is off to a good start. Do you go all out with fall decor, keep it simple, or skip fall decorating completely?
Thanks for stopping by!

Peg, thank you so much for your kind words. Not a day goes by that I don’t think about my mom. It’s hard to believe it has been almost 2 years since she passed. She is such a big part of me, and my home. I am so happy to have inspired you this fall! Love, Suzy

I love seeing all of your beautiful posts! Where did you get your pillows in the livingroom! Thanks so much!
Susan says
Thank you, Cheryl. My pillows are from several different sources. If you can be specific, I can try to identify the source for you.

I always look forward to you lovely posts!
I was hoping you could tell me where you got the darker pillows that are similar in color to the throw?
Thank you so much!
Susan says
Hi! The darker bronze colored pillows are from Pottery Barn.
