Hello Friends! The holiday season is upon us and it’s time for the annual Holiday Housewalk hosted by Jennifer Rizzo. I look forward to this tour all year, and I am so excited to share my home all decorated for season. To start the tour from the beginning, just click the image below.
I’m stop number 26 on the tour. If you are coming from Marci Schneider Blog, welcome! If you haven’t seen Marci’s tour yet, just click the button below to take you there.
Rather than decorating with a particular theme this year, my guiding mantra was to make my home cozy, calm and candlelit. With that in mind, I kept my decor neutral with a few touches of soft blue. I added cozy knits and velvet for texture. I used candles and twinkle lights for a soft glow, and added a few metallic touches for some added sparkle. And, of course, I used lots of seasonal greenery and florals.
In season’s past, I’ve decorated with lots of festive red. You can see my tour from last year.
Let’s start the tour in our den. It’s a cozy space at the back of our home just off of our kitchen.

Next up, the kitchen. I placed our Christmas tree between the den and the kitchen, and it is nice to be able to enjoy it from both spaces.

We have an open floor plan, so our dining space is open to the kitchen.
Kitchen Sources

Office
This year I added a few holiday touches to our office as well. I recently gave the office a makeover, and now there is even space for a small, minimally adorned Christmas tree.
Office Sources
Faux cypress tree | Blue rug | White armchair
And lastly, the kids’ bathroom. Just for fun, I added just a few touches of holiday decor in this space.

Thank you so much for touring my home! It means so much to me.
The next stop on the holiday housewalk is Susan from Kindred Vintage. Enjoy!

Susan, your home is always so beautiful and you gave me lots to pin! I normally don’t get excited about bathrooms – but I love what you’ve done with yours! That board and batten molding and beautiful blue wall color. Gorgeous!

Well, now I need to redo our small den/office after I saw your beautiful office makeover. There is something so soothing & comforting about your decor, it honestly felt like a warm embrace, taking in these photos. Maybe it’s because it’s been such a tough year, but I need this in my life!
Susan says
Wow, Holly, thank you so much for your sweet comments. I am so happy to hear that my home provided some joy to you! That means so much to me.

susan, your beautiful home is filled with so much beautiful light and festive touches. Just love that faux tree in your office, before I saw the link I thought it was real. Can you tell me where you got that round pedestal stand near your kitchen sink. Happy holidays.
Susan says
Thank you, Laura! The faux tree in the office is very real looking in person, too. I just love it. The round pedestal in the kitchen is from Etu Home. Happy Holidays to you!

Susan, I just discovered your site and love your calming style. Where did you get the rug in your den? I just love it but didn’t see a source. I’m guessing it maybe in a previous post, which I will try and search now. Thank you for sharing your lovely home.
Susan says
Thank you, Mary! The plaid rug in the den is from the Studio McGee line at Target. There is a direct link in the post just under the den photos. I hope that helps!

I’ve been waiting all week to see your house Susan. It’s lovely 365, but it’s even more special at Christmas. Your style is perfect to me. Warm, while refined. Comfortably casual, with an underlying elegance. It’s what I wish my home to be when it grows up.
Happy Christmas!!

How did you get that beautiful Christmas tree in that basket (in your office)? Use spray foam to hold the tree intact? Thank you~
Susan says
Hi Julie! The tree is faux and comes in a heavily weighted pot. I just slipped it into the white basket!

Newbie visitor here…”I’ll be back”. Pretty and I am a big fan of all the whites and ivories. The den plaid rug is nice, is there a source for this? I also like the office rug, it would be nice in my front sitting room. The decor you have must be very cheerful for seattle.
Susan says
