Hi! I’m Susan, a Seattle mom and former nurse and attorney. After many years as a medical malpractice litigator, I made the decision to leave the workplace and stay at home with my kids. Really, it was a no brainer for me. I left a demanding, stressful, pressure-filled job. I felt drained at the end of each day, and sometimes at the start.
Being home with my kids created an opportunity for me to rediscover my passion for vintage finds, home decor, and DIY. I have come to realize that being creative is what truly drives me.
In the fall of 2014, I started Saw Nail and Paint – my small business and blog. I give new life to cast-off furniture by repairing, painting, refinishing and upholstering. Each treasure from the past is restyled and transformed into a truly one-of-a-kind piece. On the blog, I share my furniture makeovers, thrifted and vintage home decor, and DIY projects.
I am happiest when I am in my workshop, with a paintbrush in hand, transforming a forgotten find. At the end of the day, I no longer feel drained – I feel energized. I not only restore the furniture I find, but I restore my own spirit.
Please feel free to drop me a line with any questions or comments. My email is sawnailandpaint@outlook.com. I would love to hear from you.
